The evening was a fitting celebration of our international community and enduring partnerships, and we are grateful to everyone who attended and helped make this inaugural Tokyo alumni event such a success.

We were delighted to host the very first Old Rendcombian alumni event in Tokyo on Friday 12th December, bringing together former pupils for a memorable evening of reconnection and celebration.

The event took place at the Nomura Conference Plaza Shinjuku and was wonderful to see such a strong turnout of alumni spanning the classes of 2001 to 2025.

This special gathering highlighted our long-standing partnership with Shukutoku High School, a relationship that has seen pupils join Rendcomb over the past 35 years. The evening provided a valuable opportunity for alumni to reflect on their time at the school and to hear how Rendcomb continues to thrive.

Guests enjoyed drinks and canapés alongside a video presentation from Headmaster Mr Andy Murphy, who shared updates on the school’s development and future direction. The event was hosted by Dr Caroline Routledge, Head of Admissions, together with Midori Endicott and the team from Cotswolds Wind Academy, who work closely with the school each year to ensure the best possible experience for pupils. It was particularly special to meet Mr Yoshimoto, who has been part of the organisation throughout all of these years.

We were also honoured to welcome the Headmaster of Shukutoku High School, Mr Goto, who shared some thoughtful and warm reflections on his experiences of working with Rendcomb pupils.
